🦿 When will I walk again?
This is one of the most common questions we hear. While every recovery timeline is unique, most amputees begin walking again within 3–6 months post-amputation. With a strong rehab plan, supportive care, and the right prosthetic, the road back to mobility is absolutely possible.
✅ Weeks 1–4: Healing & wound care — focus is on recovery and protecting the residual limb.
✅ Weeks 4–8: Shrinker socks & shaping — preparing the limb for a prosthesis.
✅ Months 2–3: Fittings begin for your first prosthesis, along with physical therapy.
✅ Months 3–6: Most amputees begin walking with their prosthesis, building strength and balance.
✅ 6+ Months: Progress toward walking longer distances, navigating stairs, and returning to everyday activities.
