Make Music Day is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st, the longest day of the year. Launched in 1982 in France, it is now held on the same day every year in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. When it was launched, they imagined a day where free, live music would be everywhere: street corners & parks, rooftops & gardens, store fronts & mountaintops.

This music festival is unlike many others; it is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician – young & old, amateur & professional, of every musical persuasion. All of it is free and open to the public.
