Pursuing Sanctification
We are an online Christian Community dedicated to pursuing our sanctification journey together.
I’m working through another pass in the book of Romans Oh man are some really interesting things jumping off the pages at me this time around. If anyone is interested in diving in and discussing, I wouldn’t hate it. Here’s a teaser…what if the great deception isn’t the kind of thing we thought it might be? What if it has been prevalent doctrinal elements circulating through church communities for centuries? What if the statement “if it were possible, the very elect would be deceived” wasn’t a separation clause, but a warning for those inside the church?
Perhaps we have been looking at premier doctrinal topics like OSAS vs Backsliding, or Faith vs Law/Works all wrong. When we put on the mind of Christ and think in eternal terms, maybe this “vs” mentality is part of a distraction plot by the enemy. Or, a tactic of The Great Deception plan.
It’s interesting that the term “my truth” has become so main stream. Romans has much to say about this. Consider for a moment, the deception is to divide the body of Christ with “vs” theology all while creating justification (or varying levels) for this simple question…Do you believe God is who he says he is? It’s yes or no. Not levels of justification. Yes means there’s a God and I’m not him. No means I am my own God. I’m not talking about falling short. We all do. I’m talking about at the core of one’s being…Yes or No.
What if the great deception has been right under our noses this whole time? I’m not a preacher. I’m not a teacher. I’m a seeker who has said Yes. I believe he is who he says he is. I fail…often. I believe in his power over mine. Believing that changes everything.
