Starting off the week by introducing a new winery into our book: Cape Mentelle 🥂🍇

Cape Mentelle was founded in 1970, as one of Margaret River’s founding five wineries. David Hohnen originally planted Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Their flagship wine is Cabernet Sauvignon from the original Wallcliffe Vineyard. In 1983, Cape Mentelle won the Jimmy Watson award for the best ‘one year old dry red’. They are now known for being one of Australia’s leading Cabernet Sauvignons.

Pago de la Jaraba is located in the heart of La Mancha and started in the year 1997. Growing Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano and Sauvignon Blanc.

The line of Viña Jaraba wines are a blend of Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon each from a different plot on the estate. While the Pago de la Jaraba is single vineyard wine of the same blend.

Ernesto is the international sales representative from Spain. If you’re lucky enough to visit him at winery, you will tour and taste your way through the winery, olive mill and cheese making facility. The cheese is made from the Manchego sheep who live right on the farm. 🧀🍇🐑

This past weekend, our team was out exploring California wine country - visiting wineries and hearing stories first hand. 🍷🌱🐈‍⬛

We are super excited to have strengthened our bond with a handful of current wineries, as well as welcoming on some new ones. The team is back, having gained knowledge (+ a little CA sunshine) and are ready to share that with us in the Carolina’s. 🌞
