Our case on behalf of Doug and Nicole Turpin against Charlotte Latin School was heard in the NC Supreme Court yesterday. The Turpins allege breach of contract, unfair and deceptive trade practices, defamation, and several other torts against a K-12 private school that is alleged to have expelled their children in retaliation for the Turpins asking questions and expressing concerns about the school's recent change in curriculum and culture and its focus on a political agenda.

The NC Supreme Court will hear this parents' rights case and will have the opportunity to ensure that private schools can be held accountable for expelling students in retaliation for their parents communicating concerns with the school's curriculum and their children's well-being. With the increase of private school enrollment following the expansion of the Opportunity Scholarship Program, this is a very important case, and we are proud to represent the Turpin family.
