Our Story

Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy (CCLA) is committed to helping North Carolinians understand their health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act. As advocates for low-income families, we are proud to offer outreach, education and enrollment assistance to our clients and community partners through the Health Insurance Navigator Project.

CCLA is a member of the NC Navigator Consortium, a statewide group of health care, legal aid and social service organizations who receive federal funding to help North Carolina consumers enroll in health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act.

Since 2013, the Health Insurance Navigation Project has provided free in-person assistance to thousands of North Carolinians and continues to deliver high-quality service year-round.

Health Insurance Navigators are available to help consumers understand their healthcare options. Unlike agents and brokers, who set commissions per enrollment, Navigators are unbiased, not associated with any insurance company and will not make decisions for a consumer.
