Runner dealing with knee pain?
Before you blame your knee…
Ask yourself a different question.
Why is your knee being forced to do more work than it was designed to do?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions I see.
Someone develops knee pain while running and immediately assumes:
❌ “I have bad knees.”
❌ “Running is ruining my joints.”
❌ “I just need better shoes.”
❌ “I need to stop running.”
Maybe.
But maybe not.
The knee is often the victim, not the problem.
Your body works as one connected system.
Sometimes knee pain is the result of poor hip stability.
Sometimes it’s limited ankle mobility.
Sometimes it’s a lack of strength or control.
Sometimes it’s how you’ve been moving outside of running that’s slowly overloaded the knee over time.
That’s why simply treating the painful area often doesn’t create lasting change.
The real question isn’t “What’s wrong with my knee?”
It’s:
“Why is my knee having to compensate in the first place?”
When you understand the WHY, you can finally start solving the real problem instead of chasing symptoms.
