Humidity is basically a dinner bell for ants. Once they find a scent trail into your kitchen, they’re tough to evict.

Here is a quick "ant-proofing" checklist to handle them before they arrive:

• 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆": Check the weatherstripping around your doors and the caulking around windows.

• 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟬-𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗱𝘆: In high humidity, crumbs and sticky spills ferment and smell stronger to scouts. A quick wipe-down makes your home much less attractive.

• 𝗗𝗲𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗳𝘆: Fixing leaky faucets or using a dehumidifier in damp areas like the pantry or under the sink removes their primary motivation for coming inside.

• 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸: If possible keep mulch and shrubs a few inches away from your foundation.
