🍂 Hurst GSDs Fall Service Appreciation Puppy Drawing 🍂

As the seasons begin to change, we're reminded of the incredible people who have dedicated their lives to serving others. Whether you've served in our military, worked as a first responder, or devoted yourself to helping your community, this is our small way of saying thank you.

This fall, Hurst GSDs will be giving one German Shepherd puppy to a deserving individual through a special drawing.

How to Enter:• Follow the Hurst GSDs page.• Send us a private message with proof of your service.

This drawing is open to military members, veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and others who have faithfully served their country or community.

Please do not post personal information or documentation in the comments. All verification will be handled privately through Messenger.

The drawing closes on August 15, 2026.

The selected recipient will be chosen through a random drawing and announced on the Hurst GSDs page.

Because the well-being of every puppy is our highest priority, all recipients will complete our standard placement screening. The selected recipient must be able to provide a safe, loving, lifelong home. If the selected recipient is unable to meet our placement requirements or chooses not to accept the puppy, another eligible participant will be drawn.

This giveaway is our way of expressing gratitude to those who have sacrificed so much for others. Thank you for your courage, your dedication, and your service. We hope this puppy becomes a loyal companion and brings years of joy, comfort, and unconditional love to the family who welcomes them home.

One of the greatest privileges of raising German Shepherds isn't watching them grow—it's seeing the lives they go on to change.

Over the years, I've had the honor of meeting people from every walk of life. I've shared in moments of joy, heartbreak, hope, and healing.

One thing always remains the same: the incredible bond between a person and their dog.
Today, I want to recognize one very special dog.

Meet Leo.

Leo is the son of Zoom and Poppy, and he has been working toward becoming a service dog. Recently, his family shared something that truly stopped me in my tracks. Before a seizure occurred, Leo naturally began detecting the chemical changes happening in his handler's body, giving an early warning that something wasn't right. It wasn't something he was told to do in that moment—it was the instinct, intelligence, and unwavering devotion that make dogs like him so extraordinary.

Stories like Leo's remind me why I do what I do.

These aren't just dogs. They become best friends, protectors, quiet comforts during the hardest days, and sometimes they become the difference between fear and hope.

Their ability to love without conditions and give everything they have to their people never ceases to amaze me.

BREAKING NEWS FROM HURST GSDS...

The romance department has apparently been working overtime.

Zoom looked at Athena and said, "I have a plan." Athena apparently agreed.

Then Zeus saw what was going on and thought, "Well... I don't want to be left out." Willow's response? "Fine... but you're helping raise them."
Now we wait...

If everything goes according to plan, late August and early September could be filled with tiny paws, squeaky land sharks, missing socks, and enough puppy zoomies to power a small town.

Around here, puppies don't grow up staring at kennel walls. They grow up with room to run, a pack to learn from, and enough love and enrichment to keep them busy until they convince someone to untie their shoes.

Stay tuned for pregnancy updates! We're crossing our fingers, keeping an eye on the moms-to-be, and preparing for what will undoubtedly become organized chaos.

As always... the adults start the trouble, and the puppies somehow get blamed for it.

Status report on this distinguished pack of misfit velociraptors...

The mission is going exactly as expected.

They continue to spread love wherever they go, steal hearts without permission, supervise every snack, investigate every strange noise, and unleash just enough perfectly timed chaos to keep their families on their toes.

Furniture has been inspected. Squirrels remain under constant surveillance. Tennis balls have mysteriously disappeared. Zoomies continue to occur at unsafe speeds.

This wonderful crew came from Zeus and Pearl, and watching them grow into loyal companions with personalities as big as their ears has been an absolute joy. Thank you to all of their families for giving these little raptors such amazing homes.

May your socks stay hidden... because they certainly won't.
