Cyber Security is very important for small businesses. In a survey that Mastercard conducted with 5000 small and medium-sized business owners found that 46% of them suffered a cyber-attack (1).

There are 3 major things you can do to lower your risk of suffering a Cyber security incident. Today I will share 1 with you.

MFA (Multi Factor Authentication)
On every account that has the ability to do MFA turn it on. It is an additional way of proving that the person that is signing in is you. This is in addition to your username and password, hence Multi Factor Authentication. Many times, MFA could be either a physical device like a security key that you plug into the computer, or it could be a rotating code in a mobile app. The way this protects your account is if a hacker gets your username and password and tries to sign into the account, they would then have to input the MFA code or use the security key to prove that they are you signing in. If they do not have that the service will not let them sign in.
