I am deeply saddened and my heart is heavy over the horrific events that have taken place in our country. I can't help but to think about the undeniable irony that these events took place in the days leading up to the 9/11 date.
I am a proud USA patriot and it's time I share what Embodied Pelvic Health stands for at its core.
On its largest scale, EPH stands for Jesus and the United States of America. One may wonder what this has to do with my professional life. Well, it has everything to do with it.
I would not be here without the two. "Here" meaning walking freely on this earth but "here" meaning being in a position to own a business and fulfill the meaningful work I believe I was meant to do.
EPH was quite literally thought of and built on the principles of faith and family.
Life is a precious gift. May we never forget the lives lost on 9/11/01 and the life lost on 9/10/25. ππΌ

I will post more updates later regarding when I will be retuning form maternity leave. As of now, early December still seems to be the plan with a gradual return!
For now, I'm soaking up all the newborn snuggles I can. π€π€π€
Next bout of content: all things post partum. Stay tuned! π«

Pelvic pressure and/or heaviness is a common symptom I see. Sometimes this is a complaint during pregnancy, after birth, after surgery, or something that has developed gradually over time.
Most assume these symptoms mean prolapse. While that absolutely can be the case, there are other reasons for these symptoms that are worth exploring!
It is very common to see a prolapse during a pelvic exam, as 90% of women who have had a vaginal birth will have one. HOWEVER, listening to a client's full history and description of symptoms along with a full pelvic floor assessment is crucial to know for sure the real cause of these symptoms.
You could have 1 of these, 2 of these or all 3!
β‘ prolapse
β‘ pelvic congestion
β‘ pelvic muscle tension
Long story short, a thorough examination by a skilled pelvic health therapist is really needed to know for sure what's causing your symptoms! Being told "just do kegels" is truly a disservice! π€¦πΌββοΈ

When our nervous systems are dysregulated due to things like stress (acute or chronic, mild or severe), symptoms can start to manifest physically in the body. Our brains can then become hyperfixated or aware of these typically unpleasant sensations we feel, leading to danger and threat signals, and in return increasing the intensity, severity, or frequency of the physical symptoms. Itβs all a vicious cycle and why so many suffer with chronic conditions.
Unfortunately, when seeking out traditional western medicine the physical is typically all that is evaluated, disregarding other key pieces to the story. The brain and body work together and always have! So when we become aware of this and are receptive to treatment that isnβt traditional and instead implements all parts of our story, we can heal.
Whether it's back pain that's been ongoing for years, migraines that flare monthly, constant nerve like pain, the painful feeling to empty your bladder every 30 minutes, etc - it is all treatable! Take it from someone who has been there- you can get better π€π€
