It’s Saturday. I had the perfect day planned for our family of four. Workout this morning, followed by lunch at home, then SUPing down the Tennessee River. It didn’t go as planned though. The kids had a lunch date they had committed to that I had forgotten about. I felt that part of me (the one that wants ALL plans to go as planned) beginning to stir. It felt bad. I felt out of control. I wanted to demand that everyone stick to ‘my plans’. I wanted to convince them that it would be fun and a great activity for us to do together as a family. Thank God those feelings subsided and with a deep breath and a prayer, I was able to smile and let it go! Peace came over me and I was able to respond in love and with kindness, letting the kids know how important it was for them to keep their lunch plans. My husband and I ended up having a wonderful paddle on the river together. Just the two of us. Guess we needed some alone time. We ended up meeting up with the kids at the pool afterwards. Great reminder for me today to be still and trust the process 😉
