Two years ago, I lost my job as an event manager at an international agency.

Over the next two months, I applied to more than 150 roles. One hundred and fifty. I heard back from a fraction of them. I questioned everything — my skills, my worth, my direction. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life.

But somewhere in that stretch of silence and rejection, something shifted.

I realized I had been placing my livelihood — and honestly, my sense of self — in other people’s hands. And I was done with that.

So two months after losing that job, I stopped applying and started building. I launched Impactful Events Co., my own B2B event planning and consulting firm right here in Chattanooga.

I had no idea what was ahead. I just knew I wasn’t willing to wait for someone else to decide my future anymore.

Today I work with nonprofit and corporate clients on galas, fundraisers, conferences, and summits that actually mean something. I get to do work I’m proud of, on my own terms.
