“Put the chain in me too, father... ”
This one hit me deep. A gentle reminder to all the parents out there.
— "Put the chain in me," whispered the boy, with eyes full of silent hope.
This morning was like so many others:
— “Get up! Wash that face! Get your hair done ! Put the shirt on — quickly! ”
— “No time for coffee! Take the juice - and don't spill, eh! ”
— "What did I just say, huh? It's all stained up! I can't take it anymore... You don't get one right ! ”
The boy went quiet
I couldn't say "pops".
I was scared.
At school he couldn't concentrate
I've always been distant, sad
I wondered why the other colleagues were happy... and he doesn't.
Later, in a rare moment of courage, he said:
— "Today the teacher asked: 'What does your dad do? ' And I... don't know what to answer. ”
- "I train dogs," the father replied, without even looking into his son's eyes.
— "And what do you teach them? " asked the little boy, shorty.
— "To be obedient." Not to destroy things. To protect. Leading the blind To save lives. being patient, brave, loyal. And doing all of this........... without expecting anything in return. ”
- "And how do you train them?" ”
— "I put on a light chain. On the side road. I speak in a calm manner. Fix without hurting. And I give affection afterwards - so you know I'm not mad. But... it requires patience. A lot of patience. ”
The boy swallowed him dry The eyes are getting full.
She looked at her daddy and, with a trembling voice, said:
— “So put the chain in me too, dad...
I want to learn from you.
Correct me without screaming.
Hug me later.
Just be patient with me.
I will protect our home I will learn to take care of others.
What if one day... you lose sight,
I will be your eyes.
Only , , , , , put the chain on me ”
Dad just broke down in tears.
And in that embrace, a new chain was born —
Invisible, made of love, patience and tenderness.
A chain that, if taken good care of... it never breaks.
🤍 Let's not forget: our children need time, care and gentleness.
Because love... don't shout. It shows itself.

I was born into a family of women who made their living through sewing. My grandmother, my aunties, and especially my mother, Gerusa, stitched clothes not just to support their families, but to build their homes and futures. Their craft was more than a skill—it was a legacy.
As a child, I tried to learn the art of sewing too, but it never came naturally. I’d get frustrated easily, even thinking that locking myself in a quiet room might help me focus and finally get it right. But no matter how hard I tried, it just wasn’t my path.
As I grew older and discovered my own talents, I gravitated toward communication, marketing, sales, leadership, and management. At 16, I joined the Interact Club and thrived in it, eventually serving as Vice President of our local Rotary Club for three years.
One of my college professors, Mario Guerreiro, once told me, “Nayana, you are a strategist. You have a holistic approach to solving problems. Your brain isn’t meant for “small tasks”—you need a role where you can think broadly and share your knowledge across disciplines.” That moment shifted something in me. I realized that what brought me the most joy was helping others grow, develop ideas, and reach their goals.
I graduated with a strong sense of purpose, committed to using my gifts to make a difference. I didn’t choose Public Relations because I could sew a suit—I chose it because I could craft a strategy, write a project, and help turn someone’s vision into reality.
