Last week, our fleet of six BOTONY™ robots arrived at Borderview Research Farm in Alburgh, VT. Our team is excited to assess their use in Vermont fields throughout the 2026 growing season. ⁠ ⁠ These robots are equipped with a cutting deck that allows them to w**d between crop rows spaced 30 inches apart, helping reduce herbicide use and compaction while saving farmers’ time. The bots also have an integrated spray tank for applying foliar fertilizers--nutrients applied directly onto the leaves of crops for fast and efficient absorption.⁠ ⁠ Why is this research important? As innovations in agriculture continue to increase, we need to understand what actually works for Vermont farmers.
