Helping Europeans relocate to Hampton Roads
Real estate • relocation • human guidance
MKDDY PM assoc. Helping people feel at home
in a life not yet theirs.

06/21/2026

Today is both International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice.

A reminder to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate the small rituals that help us feel grounded.

For me, yoga is part of my life here in Hampton Roads.
It creates connection, community, and a sense of belonging: things that matter just as much as finding the right home.

The feeling of ‘feeling at home’ grows through the people we meet, the places we return to, and the routines that make a new place feel familiar.

Wishing you a peaceful and joyful day ☀️

A house is only one part of the decision.

The street. The morning routine. The school drop-off.
The places you’ll visit every week without even thinking about it.

That’s what turns a house into a home.

It’s not about relocating.
It’s about arriving.

You found the perfect rental.

I’ll take care of the part most people worry about.

Understanding the lease.
Communicating with landlords.
Making sure you feel confident before you sign.

One less thing to think about.

One more step toward feeling at home.

Most people choose a neighborhood based on the house.

The families who settle in well choose based on everyday life.

The school run.
The grocery store.
The dog walk.
The feeling.

Because you’re not just choosing where you live.

You’re choosing how you live.

It’s not about relocating.

It’s about arriving.

Some goodbyes are harder than others 💛

Last week, we shared a farewell dinner with Valérie and her family (Stefan Lindelauf) before they head back to Belgium next month.

From the very beginning, Val has been one of those people who always welcomes you with a smile, a kind word, and an open door. Every time I stopped by in Chesapeake, there was always time for a coffee, a drink, and a little chat.

Thank you, Valérie Schmit, for your kindness, your positivity, and for always being there for others.
Goodbye doesn’t mean “see you never again.” It simply means “see you later.”

You and your family will be missed very much, but I know this isn’t the end of our story 🇧🇪❤️🇺🇸

CU for coffee in Norfolk soon, right before you really really really leave 😉

Everyone thinks about the move.

The flights.
The paperwork.
The container.

But what about the first night?

What will you eat?
What will you sleep on?
What do you pack in your suitcase when everything else is still at sea?

These are the details that matter most when you arrive.

You don’t have to think about all of it.

That’s what I’m here for.

It’s not about relocating.

It’s about arriving.

No detoxes. No pressure. No perfect version of yourself.

Just a few days to slow down, enjoy good food, move your body, sleep deeply, and reconnect with what actually makes you feel well.

Early December 2026
End January 2027

Would you join?

Everyone plans for moving.

Almost nobody plans for the first Tuesday after arrival.

That’s when the small things suddenly matter.

The groceries.
The paperwork.
The school forms.
The feeling of not quite knowing where everything is yet.

It’s not about relocating.

It’s about arriving.

Yesterday, after I sent a video tour of a house to a family overseas, they replied:

"It felt like I was visiting it with you."

That message stayed with me.
Because that's exactly what I'm trying to create.
