National Pollinator Week is here! 🐝 Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are essential to our food supply and local ecosystems — and they need our help. Whether you have a backyard or a balcony, here’s some actions you can take:

- Plant native flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Skip pesticides and herbicides whenever possible
- Choose reusable items and reduce single-use plastics to help protect local waterways
- Compost yard waste and food scraps to build healthier soil
- Leave leaves and bare soil for nesting pollinators

Small changes can make a big difference for pollinators and the environment we share 🌼

Noticed green scum or murky water in your neighborhood pond lately? It's likely algae — and while it's naturally occurring, excess nutrients can make it worse. The good news: what you do in your yard makes a difference. Here's how to help:

🌿 Keep leaves and grass clippings out of storm drains
🌿 Limit fertilizer use on your lawn
🌿 Don't feed the geese (yes, really — they produce 3 lbs of waste per day!)
🌿 Pick up pet waste - even in your own backyard!
🌿 Plant native buffers along the water's edge
