No branding in the post. Just real process, practical UX decisions, and how structure can quietly make everything work better.

Good UX = Good Business: Lessons from Joel Marsh’s VDP Framework - Bonfire Creative 09/09/2025

I've been diving into Joel Marsh's "UX for Business" book after hearing him on UX Podcast, and his VDP Framework is such a tangible way to connect user needs with business goals.

And just like that they are off to school. It’s the end of a chapter for me in motherhood. For the past 9 years I’ve always had one or two little ones home with me. Today marks the first day that I will be alone during the day. I know it’s a routine I will get used to, and grow to enjoy, but it’s a tough day for me.

There’s a certain sadness in closing this chapter—I’ll miss the noise, the interruptions, and the little moments of everyday life with them. But at the same time, I see this as the beginning of a new season. A season where I can pour more time and focus into my work as a freelance designer.

I’m excited about the projects on the horizon, the chance to partner with new clients, and the opportunity to keep growing creatively while still being the mom who’s waiting in the car line for them, excited to hear about their day.

Here’s to new beginnings—for them and for me.
