Summer Thursdays are for thinking big!! 🧠 Did you know that pinecones open or close depending on the weather?! Today we observed pinecones close when they are exposed to water and open when they are able to dry. We tried both cold and warm water. We learned that the open pinecones close quicker in warm water than they do in cold water. The closed pinecones stay closed in both cold and warm water and it slowly opened when it was drying. Today was a fun experiment!!
