For over a week I've been trying to make posts, and Instagram wouldn't allow me to.
It kept telling me my account was "under review" for a post that was reported, but I couldn't find any information.
It also happened right about the time I posted about supporting pride. That post is also not there. Suspicious, right? π€
βThis is frustrating because
1. I would like to post about the animals in our care, the work we're doing, and the needs we have to keep doing the work, etc.
And 2. It's immature and childish to report a post about pride. Like how sad for the person who was so bothered.
πSo here's the deal: In a time where people are more nervous about sharing what they stand for, I think it's time to get even louder. This is your friendly reminder that hate is not welcome on this page, or in our homes, when it comes to adopting an animal from us.
πΎ To our LGBTQIA+ friends, fosters, adopters, and supporters: we see you, we love you, and we support you.
π We welcome fosters, adopters, friends, and community members of any gender identity, sexuality, age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and ability to our little loving, weird, and messy Tiny Paws RVA community. π
πΎ I've blocked people before and I'll do it again... Because as I always say... No kittens for homophobes. π
π Happy PURRIDE! π

New month, new kittens!
πΊπΊπΊ
We're helping out a sweet family that was trying to help some stray kitties and ended up with... Quite a few kittens!
We met Christina yesterday to pick up these 6, and we're so excited to introduce you!
Group #1: the Boy Genius litter! πΆ
We have Bridgers (m), Lucy (f), Phoebe (f), and Julien (f).
Their first photo looked like an album cover, so it was just meant to be!
Group #2: the Authors litter! βπΌ
We have (Ralph Waldo) Emerson and (Langston) Hughes. These brothers are sure to lead to some fun stories from their foster!
Everyone is currently a little shell shocked from their busy day of travel and new places yesterday, but they're slowly settling in. And yes, all the adults are getting fixed so there won't be more kittens!
Welcome to the good life, babies! We're glad you're here! π§‘π€

All aboard the hot mess express!
Meet Mitzi (photo 1) and Eleanor (phone 2)!
These sweet little girlies, unrelated to each other, both got the freedom ride to Tiny Paws RVA yesterday!
Mitzi is from our friends at . Beth was sending me a bunch of photos of kittens and I asked about the tiny gray single. She replied "yep... The second I saw her I told her you'd want her". So I have a type, alright!? π
She has a little bit of an upset tummy, and she's a little overwhelmed from being orphaned by herself but she purrs nonstop when you hold her and once she's out of quarantine she'll get to be friends with the pastry kittens!
Then there's Eleanor. Another rescue friend texted on Wednesday asking if we had any room at the inn. One of our fosters is already planning to take a pair, but was kind enough to agree to take this gross eyed little lady. How couldn't we!?
She has a pretty rough URI, but we'll get her in to the vet for antibiotics soon!
We have a bunch of kittens and rescue, with more people asking us for help everyday.
We could desperately use donations, items from our wish list, or a few Fosters to join the team.

Meet one of our newest litters!
A shelter was handling a pretty intense hoarding situation of over 25 cats and kittens, as well as some dogs. Thankfully, the former owners asked for help.
We were glad to be able to take a handful of kittens. Athena & Ares are siblings, and Apollo & Artemis are siblings, but both pairs are most likely related in some way. These little beans came to us underweight and pretty snotty, but between some good meds and a great foster family to care for them, they are on the up and up! π
The last 2 slides of this post show the situation these kittens came from. I do not share this to shame or judge the person who was living in this situation. However, it's important people see what we do, and why rescue is so vital to helping not just animals, but people too.
While we don't know what happened to the homeowner, we hope they got the support they needed.
(Any unkind comments towards the situation will be deleted at the very least, if not blocked).
Our goal now is to get these little friends ready for adoption!
Welcome to the good life, little ones! We're glad you're here! π

Hello everyone!
It's been a little quiet here... So let me tell you a little story to catch you up.
A couple weeks ago I snuck away for a much needed trip. My mom and I went on a mother daughter trip to Costa Rica! We had the most amazing time. Like truly, I could not have asked for anything better or more amazing! And to do it with one of my best friends? Even better. π
We zip lined, we rafted, we chased waterfalls, we ate amazing food, you get the picture. We also saw so many cool animals. I wanted to see a sloth, and they made sure they were there for me to see! Plus some other cool creatures. The hummingbirds might have been my favorite! π
I also, to everyone's surprise I'm sure, found many a new dog and cat friend. The number of times my poor mom had to be like "please do not bring that cat to your hotel room" or "no, we cannot bring a dog back from Costa Rica" is very high for a woman I no longer live with. π
But before I left, I made a point to schedule a bunch of posts so that your supply of kitten cuteness would continue.
Or so I thought.
For being a millennial, sometimes my tech skills suck and I didn't actually post. So there I was, enjoying my time, knowing my fosters were in safe hands and posts were being made, except...Oops. That's on me. π«£π
I'm back now, and while I'm still dreaming of being back in Costa Rica, I'm also happy to be home with my crew and my fosters, and there are lots more kittens that need us right now.
I'll be posting a lot this week with fun updates, so keep an eye out!
Lastly, I just want to say a huge, giant THANK YOU to all the people that helped make the trip possible. There were something like 8-10 people that watched my personal animals, fosters, kept things going with tiny paws, etc. Without them, I wouldn't have gotten a break, and I'm grateful for them. πππ
Now... Who do you want to hear about next? Who's signing up to foster? We need you! π

Meet Eclair!
Eclair was transferred to us from another shelter after being found alone on hot pavement.
He had burns on his little paw pads, and a bad scrape of unknown origin on his head. π
Even with his injuries, this little guy was fast to purr when wrapped in a soft blanket, and loves to eat!
His paws and head are healing (photos of his healed injuries later in the post, they looked worse when he first got here).
Kittens do better with buddies, so we like to put singles with other kittens for their social and emotional development. In just a few more days after his quarantine is over, he'll be introduced to Beignet & Croissant. They're just a few days older than him, and I think everyone will become fast friends. π₯°
Welcome to the good life, little guy! We're glad you're here! π©΅

Are you ready to be amazed, amazed, amazed by our newest kittens?
Meet Ryland Grace, Hail Mary, & Rocky!
No, these aren't the same kitten, it's 3 siblings but they're almost identical! π They were going to be given away for free, so we jumped in and grabbed them.
These sweet, social kittens will be available in a month or so, so stay tuned! Their foster mom reports they're so good natured, they've just been a dream so far.
Welcome to the good life, little ones!
We're glad you're here! π©΅

π² Five Dollar Friday! π²
Okay friends, I have been woefully remiss on fundraising so far this year. π
I can't lie, it's hard to ask people for money when I look at the news, and I look at my social media feed, and see how many people are struggling to even get stuff like groceries or gas (myself included!).
We are working on a few fundraisers coming up that I'm excited about, but everyone keeps telling me I need to fundraise NOW, so here we go. Let's jump in with an easy one.
π±Croissant and Beignet are growing like weeds, and soon they'll need more formula. They'll also need to get vetted, just like the other 3 kittens at my house, and the 3 we brought in yesterday (more on that later), and the kittens that are to come. π
Plus we have to buy supplies, pay for our website, all that other stuff.
With it being Friday, let's celebrate by raising a little money.
Can you send us just $5!? More if you want, but if everyone reading gave us just $5 we'd be feeling pretty confident, pretty fast!
Need to know how to donate?
Head over to tinypawsrva.org/donate and we have you covered!
Can't donate? We get it. But please share our post or tag a friend in the comments so that maybe they can follow or help us out, too.
Okay! Ready? Set... DONATE! πππ

Meet Princess Pepper, the pickiest, pluckiest, personality filled pup of them all!Β
Pepper is about 1-2 years old, about 15lbs, and a mix of chihuahua, fruit bat, and a few other unknown breeds.Β
Β
Pepper is a good dog. She is sweet, silly, and smart.Β
She loves to snuggle, and loves to make nests in blankets. She will give you kisses until you tell her to stop. She is very food motivated, and was quick to learn. She also loves her ball, and will play fetch until your arm is starting to go numb.Β
Pepper is truly a great dog, and will make a great best friend for the right person.Β
However, Pepper is also a fearful dog.Β
This often comes out in the form of barking, vocalizing, moving away, and occasionally other tactics meant to scare people off. She wants to be friends, but she is nervous, and needs someone who understands that and is willing to work with her on this.Β
This will require a slower introduction process, and a person who wants to take the time to move at Pepper's pace, and who is committed to continuing her training.Β
Pepper has done well with the small dog in her foster home, so another dog might be a great way to help her confidence.
Pepper has done well with the cats in her foster home, but she does occasionally get the urge to chase them or nip when they get too close to her toys.
Pepper is fully vetted, crate trained, house trained (with the occasional use of puppy pads), and knows basic leash and obedience skills.Β
The perfect home for Pepper would be an adults only home, who are laid back and calm.
An adopter who understands and has experience with Chihuahuas, or small breed dogs, is wonderful, but not required. Similarly, an adopter who has experience working with fearful or reactive dogs is a plus.Β
Most importantly, we are looking for an adopter who understands this will be a process that takes time, and is willing to put that time in.Β
If you think you might be Pepper's Princess Charming, please apply!
