Firefighters in Boone County, Missouri, rescued a young fawn after fishermen spotted it struggling to stay afloat in the middle of a lake. When crews arrived, they found the exhausted fawn in the water while its mother waited anxiously on the shoreline nearby.

Firefighters swam the fawn safely back to shore, where it was reunited with its mother. The department said the young deer appeared unharmed as the pair headed back into the nearby woods together.
