Theresa discovered mat Pilates while living in China during quarantine and lockdowns. Through movement, breath, focus, and control, Pilates became a grounding practice that cultivated appreciation for what the body could do — even in isolation.

After returning home, she became a caregiver for her father during his terminal illness. During that season, Pilates and Yoga at Wellness Collective became a source of restoration and support.

That experience sparked a deeper calling:
to teach movement in a way that helps others feel strong, supported, and connected to themselves.

Chellie’s goal is simple:
To create a space where every person feels capable exactly as they are.

She believes strength, control, and progress belong to every body — not just an ideal or aesthetic.

Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, you are welcome, supported, and fully capable here.

“I have been practicing Pilates since 1997 and discovered Reformer Pilates in 2012 after the birth of my second son. As a former collegiate track and field athlete living with spinal stenosis, neck issues, and osteoarthritis, I fell in love with Pilates because it provided an effective, low-impact workout that strengthened my body without aggravating my joints.
I completed over 450 hours of Pilates training and apprenticeship work, have more than 1,200 studio hours, and continue my education through specialty coursework in scoliosis, Parkinson’s disease, stenosis, neuropathy, prenatal Pilates, and kyphosis.
In addition to teaching Pilates, I have been a Registered Nurse for 26 years and have spent nearly 30 years helping others improve their health and wellbeing. My greatest joy is helping clients experience less pain, greater mobility, and renewed confidence in movement.”
