Stay Safe on Scaffolding This Winter, Wyoming!
Scaffolding is key to getting the job done, but when the temps drop, we need to take extra precautions! Ice, snow, and the notorious Wyoming wind turn a standard workspace into a serious hazard.
A quick check could save a life:
Clear the Path: Before setting foot on it, ensure every inch of the platform and ladder is free of snow and ice. A slick surface is a guaranteed recipe for a slip.
Watch the Wind: If the wind is whipping (especially above the manufacturer's specified limits), stop work on the scaffolding immediately. High winds pose a severe risk to stability and balance.
A Competent Person must inspect scaffolding before each shift and after any event that could affect its structural integrity (like a heavy snowfall).
Remember, safety isn't just a ruleāit's about looking out for one another. Thanks for doing your part!
