Hoarding can be life long, but it doesn't mean you have to go at it alone. Seek out the numerous support groups in your community as well as those in your social media platforms. 😉

Unfortunately for a lot of people who suffer from hoarding disorder it can be a condition that they have to manage for the rest of their lives. Due to the nature of the condition it can be very difficult to find an absolute cure that enables a person to no longer hoard.

This is not a negative post however! There are a lot of treatment options available which can help a person to learn a variety of coping mechanisms. These mechanisms can be very effective in helping a person to reduce hoarding tendencies and to even prevent unnecessary purchases in some circumstances.

These mechanisms can include engaging in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), joining a support group, utilising support forums and creating cleaning schedules that you can commit to. There are many others of course.
