My wife, Selene Partida Saul continues to impress me with her love for humanity! As soon as she heard about little 8 year old Melissa Ortega of whom was shot and killed in her hometown neighborhood of Little Village, Selene Partida went into action! She immediately contacted the Chamber and local Business owners, residents and community organizations to organize a walk for Life, a walk for peace, a walk against violence, a walk to create awareness for the Mental Health for our young people!

As a Chicagoan it is all to familiar for us to hear about another drive by, another act of violence. We are becoming desensitized by the violence that is happening all around us. More so our children are experiencing so much of this at a young age and they have no where to turn! We looked into Mental Health programs and facilities available to young children and there are very limited options if any at all (depending on where you live and resources). Our Young children are not only victims of these crimes, they are also affected in many other ways! Our hope is to bring awareness to the need for Young Children and adolescent counseling.
