A tourniquet should be placed above the bleeding site.
Think:
β High on the injured limb
β Between the wound and the torso
β Tight enough to stop the bleeding
A common mistake is applying it too loose.
If bleeding does not stop, a second tourniquet may be needed above the first.
Do not remove a tourniquet once it is applied.

One of the most common mistakes during severe bleeding is waiting too long to act.
People freeze.
They second guess themselves.
They hope the bleeding will slow on its own.
But severe bleeding can become life-threatening in minutes.
π Early action matters.
Firm direct pressure can make a critical difference before first responders arrive.
