Oberbillwerder reimagines Hamburgโs urban edge as a connected district where city life, landscape systems, mobility, and climate-conscious planning work together.
Located between meadows, cultivated farmland, and suburban growth, the 124 ha masterplan proposes a mixed-use urban quarter shaped by green corridors, future mobility, resource efficiency, and a careful response to its sensitive cultural landscape. With nearly 1,000,000 mยฒ of planned development, the project positions nature not as a boundary, but as an active framework for public life, neighbourhood identity, and long-term urban resilience.

Home proposes a scalable, community-led housing model that rethinks how sustainable neighbourhoods can be designed, built, and lived in.
Developed as a concept for the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, the project responds to the urgent need for high-quality housing at substantial volume. Instead of relying on standardised housing estates, +Home explores flexible and adaptable homes that can be procured, manufactured, and assembled in a more bespoke yet scalable way.
The scheme prioritises green, walkable, and inclusive neighbourhoods by moving cars to the periphery, allowing streets and shared spaces to become safer, more social, and more child-friendly. With biodiversity, climate performance, digital design, manufacturing, and on-site assembly embedded from the outset, +Home presents a forward-looking model for self-build communities, affordable housing frameworks, and resilient neighbourhood development.

The Kolomenka River recreation area transforms a historic riverbank into an active, inclusive, and landscape-driven public realm for Kolomna.
Developed by BASIS bureau, the project improves the banks of the Kolomenka River through a careful balance of recreation, heritage reference, ecological character, and everyday community use. The first stage covers 5 hectares within a 30-hectare masterplan and introduces modern beach infrastructure, food courts, childrenโs play areas, bicycle paths, amphitheatre seating, piers for SUPs and wake sports, beach volleyball areas, and quiet zones for rest.
The design draws from the agrarian history of the site, where fields, gardens, meadows, and orchards once shaped the landscape. Each zone reflects these historic spatial typologies, while the active area follows an orthogonal grid inspired by vegetable garden structures. Wooden pavilions, carved navigation, natural materials, movable benches, piers, and red architectural accents connect the project to Kolomnaโs heritage, including references to the Kolomna Kremlin and traditional Russian wooden architecture.
