The three major indexes have been the strongest in the Dow Jones recently. During the decline, we should look for the bottoming signal of Nasdaq, and we should look for the peaking signal of the Dow Jones during the rebound. So far, the Dow Jones has followed a very standard path, and there is no particularly worrying situation. If the Dow Jones does not make a sharp correction, there is a high probability that the Nasdaq will be able to sustain it or even outperform.

The sales forecast of the retail stock Best Buy reduced the market’s concerns that high inflation may lead to unsatisfactory sales in the holiday shopping season. On the eve of the holiday, the trading volume in the market was relatively quiet. The Dow Jones index regained 34,000 points and closed at 34,098 points, up 397 points, or 1.2%. The Nasdaq index closed at 11174 points, up 149 points, or 1.36%. The Standard & Poor's 500 index hit its highest closing level in about two and a half months, and regained 4,000 points, closing at 4,003 points, up 53 points, or 1.36%. Best Buy surged nearly 13 percent, the best-performing stock in the S&P 500. The company expects the annual sales decline to be lower than the previous forecast, and said it is confident that the transaction volume will increase.

U.S. stocks rose for two days in a row, and the minutes of the Fed rate meeting suggested that the pace of interest rate hikes may be slowed down. The Dow Jones index closed at 34194 points, up 95 points, or 0.28%. The Nasdaq closed at 11,285 points, up 110 points, or nearly 1%. The Standard & Poor's 500 index closed at 4027 points, up 23 points, or 0.59%. Large-cap technology stocks were positive, with Amazon and Microsoft up about 1%, and Apple up nearly 0.6%. Elsewhere, Tesla rebounded nearly 8%.
