HEAT ADVISORY - An extreme heat warning is in effect. With the humidity pushing temperatures well into the triple digits, the heat alert will last through the remainder of the week.

We encourage those seeking shelter to visit the Harold Washington Library center in the Loop, which acts as a cooling center.

In addition, the Department of Family and Support Services operates at least six community service centers across the city:

✅ Garfield Center – 10 S. Kedzie Ave.
✅ King Center – 4314 S. Cottage Grove Ave.
✅ North Area Center – 845 W. Wilson Ave.

✅ Trina Davila Center – 4312 W. North Ave.
