Chicago City SC to partner with European Powerhouse, FC Bayern Munich Youth Affiliate Program

Agreement will bring the methodology of German Giants to Windy City

Chicago City Soccer Club is pleased to announce their new partnership with GPS (Global Premier Soccer) and FC Bayern. As part of GPS being the official North American Youth partner of FC Bayern Munich, effective immediately CCSC will now have exclusive access to the FC Bayern Munich brand as part of the GPS network of clubs and will run a talent ID event this summer ahead of FC Bayern’s trip to Soldier Field to face AC Milan on July 27th. This will be a precursor to the FC Bayern ID Program, which will launch in the fall to identify top talent in the Chicago area.

As part of the agreement coaches from CCSC will have access to the FC Bayern curriculum & the FC Bayern Academy player development methodology. This will include interaction with the Youth Academy Staff of FC Bayern on a monthly basis, as well as annual technical visits to FC Bayern. All players will also have the honor of wearing the famed FC Bayern uniform.

GPS signed their exclusive North American partnership with FC Bayern in 2014 and the Massachusetts based organization is currently active in 21 States and territories plus Canada. Founded in 2001, the club has grown to become one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the US.

We can now really provide the ultimate soccer experience to our members and the families of the city.” said Nick Mulvaney, Executive Director of Chicago City Soccer Club.

CCSC will also be merging with the Chicago Red Devils Soccer Club and their Club Director, CJ Seestadt, will be joining Chicago City as a member of their board. “As a Chicagoan who grew up here playing the game CCSC is a reflection of the club philosophy that I knew as a child that I took with me to Europe to play as an adult. I couldn’t have found a better partner to meet the needs of my current players and parents.” said former goalie for FC Tampere and FC Koparit and Club Director of the Chicago Red Devils.

“The club has enjoyed phenomenal growth in a short period of time and is poised to continue that trend with the addition of FC Bayern GPS and plans for our state of the art, new facility,” said Mulvaney.
