Not every stitch turns into something magical ✨
Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a “well… that didn’t work” streak over here at Twinkle Goods. This mini basket? Attempted four times. FOUR. And somehow… still not it 😅
But honestly, it felt like a little life lesson woven right in. When something isn’t clicking, sometimes the best thing you can do is pause. So I went back to the basics—the projects that feel like home in my hands—and gave myself permission to step away for a bit.
Cue slow spring days, mediation walks, and finally setting up my lazy swing (highly recommend 🌿). Turns out, a little sunshine and stillness can do wonders for creativity.
The basket will be back… just not today. And that’s okay 🤍

I was so excited to cast on a new project for our Greece trip. I told myself I’d wait for the plane ride — 15 uninterrupted hours of stitching bliss.
And then… I didn’t start it.
Not on the flight. Not when we landed.
What I realized instead was this: I needed the downtime more than I needed the project.
I needed rest.
From my life.
From work.
From the weight of physical and mental exhaustion.
From family stress.
From all of it.
So instead of casting on, I walked. I hiked. I wandered.
I fell in love with the monasteries suspended in the mountains of Meteora — the peace, the stillness, the quiet strength they hold. I let myself slow down. I meditated. I listened to what my body and mind were asking for.
Then we arrived in Thessaloniki, where I met a perfumer — a true artist. Watching him speak about his craft, with reverence and fire, stirred something in me. His passion was palpable. Intentional. Alive.
And I realized… that’s what I’ve been missing.
That feeling I used to have when I created. When I worked. When I lived with energy and curiosity instead of obligation.
Somewhere along the way, I lost that spark.
But here, in his words and in this place, I felt a flicker of it again.
Only then was I ready to cast on.
And when I did, I wasn’t thinking about the finished piece.
I wasn’t thinking about content or productivity.
I wasn’t thinking about what it would “do.”
I was thinking about the joy of each stitch.
The rhythm.
The technique.
The quiet progress.
Just creating for the sake of creating.
This is what I want to hold onto.
To bring that presence into my knitting. My art. My health. My relationships. My work. My life.
Maybe this is where the real project begins.
