A week ago jacob ran the Central States 100 race near Milford, Wisconsin and 18 hours later over a grueling course finished 100 kilometers. Great job!

In which we toot the horn of TubaChristmas, celebrating its 50th brassy birthday Every year, musicians across the country gather for what has become known as TubaChristmas — concerts range from just a few tubas to hundreds of them. (The record is 835.)

Happy Make Someone's Day sports Friday! This appeared recently in my feed because my daughter ran the Chicago Marathon last weekend (and got engaged!). It's very touching and shows what how a leader can model make someone's day. Jacqueline Nyetipei Kiplimo stunned the world during the 2010 Zheng-Kai Marathon. She witnessed a disabled runner struggling to drink water who was a double amputee. Instead of seeing her moment to run ahead of this struggling athlete, she ran alongside of him from the 6.2 mile mark to the 23 mile mark, helping him drink water at all of the watering stations. The compassion she showed caused her to lose her first place position and place 2nd in the race — costing her the win and the $10,000 cash prize. Jacqueline showed the world that day that to her, helping one another was more important than winning a race that she had been preparing for her entire life. Now this is what a true leader looks like, one that never leaves someone disadvantaged behind.
