We are thrilled to welcome Savannah to the Deos Ballet studios! Savannah will be join us tomorrow morning to lead company class and rehearsals for her first work on the company. Learn more about Savannah below:
Savannah graduated from Butler University magna cm laude with Honors in Dance Performance and a minor in Creative Writing. Upon moving to Chicago she spent time on scholarship at the Lou Conte Studio and as an apprentice with Chicago Repertory Ballet. She was a company member with Columbus Dance Theater for their 2018/2019 season before returning to Chicago to attend Hubbard Street's Professional Development Program under the direction of Alexandra Wells and pursue her artistic career as a choreographer. Her dance career and training has afforded her the opportunity to work with artists such as Alice Klock and Florian Lochner, Peter Chu, Adam Barruch, Robyn Mineko Williams, Jonathan Alsberry, Rena Butler, Jenna Pollack, Ryan Mason, David Norsworthy, Jan Erkert, Susan Van Pelt Petry, Stella Kane, Laura Wade, Shannon Alvis, Lesley Telford, Wade Schaaf, Jaime Kotrba, and Seth Williams.
In January of 2020, she co-founded Little Fire Artist Collective with eighteen other artists to create an alternative model to traditional dance companies. As primary administrator, she produced the show "Don't Tell Me What to Do" in April of 2022 presenting some of her own choreography alongside her fellow collaborators.
Upcoming projects in 2023 include a residency with Little Fire by invitation from Margie Gillis and the Ann & Weston Hicks Choreography Fellowship at Jacob’s Pillow.
