RefugeeOne proudly welcomed the Consulate General of Ukraine in Chicago and others who are determined to help Ukrainian students succeed, despite the war in their home country.
Over four days this month, RefugeeOne hosted dozens of Ukrainian students currently residing in the U.S. as they sat for standardized testing that serves as the equivalent of a Ukrainian high school diploma—a key step to entering universities in Ukraine and Europe.
Because of the war in Ukraine, these students can’t safety take the exam at home. RefugeeOne is honored to share our space with these teens who refuse to let challenges hinder their educational aspirations, and we are grateful to collaborate with their families, Ukraine’s Ministry of Education, the Consulate of Ukraine, KonektMe, Oleg Malski, and more advocates on this opportunity.
On World Refugee Day and every day we stand in solidarity with newcomers.
In the heart of downtown Chicago, the city’s refugee organizations and advocates joined together with one message: refugees are welcome here.
