Our Senior Program Officer, Sarai Garza, joined the Illinois Community College Board's WEI Symposium for a panel on "Cross-Sector Partnerships That Drive Workforce and Financial Stability," hosted by our newest Central Illinois Financial Opportunity Center® partner, Illinois Central College (ICC).
Sarai was joined by Brittany Strickland, Vice President and Community Manager at JPMorganChase, and Janice Parker, Workforce Manager at ICC. Walking is self care. And to celebrate Juneteenth, we walked together.
LISC and Peloton Community in Motion initiative joined GirlTREK: Healthy Black Women and Girls for a Sisterhood Saturday Walk at XS Tennis Village, which is now home to free Peloton bikes for the community!
GirlTrek is a global movement of Black women leveraging the historic legacy of walking as a pathway to heal and transform our lives.
Thank you to everyone who came out to walk with GirlTREK: Healthy Black Women and Girls and Peloton at XS Tennis Village in celebration of Juneteenth!
This Juneteenth activation is part of Community in Motion, our partnership with bringing bikes to LISC partners across Chicago at sites like housing developments, community centers, and youth spaces. Catch the highlights! 🚴🏾♀️
