We had just returned from our first vacation away from our “real jobs,” a trip to South Beach where we were unexpectedly scouted to be models.
This shoot closely marks the moment we made the hardest decision of our lives: to walk away from everything we knew to chase a dream.

Side bar: just a few years later Carter smith would become one of the biggest photographers in the world and lived on just down the street from our first New York apartment.
