In this inspiring episode of The Patient Experience-Speaking with Sandra L , we meet a remarkable woman who’s turned her diagnosis into a declaration of purpose. With courage as her compass and creativity as her toolkit, she’s transformed the emotional weight of her prognosis into vibrant works of art — becoming an unstoppable crafter and a beacon of self-care.
With honesty, humor, and a whole lot of heart, she shares how crafting became her lifeline — a way to process, heal, and reconnect with joy. From late-night tee shirt and mug making to designing pieces that speak louder than words, her journey reminds us that self-care isn’t just about survival — it’s about reclaiming beauty, purpose, and power in the face of uncertainty.
This episode is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the quiet strength it takes to turn pain into possibility.
Pregnancy Loss Part 2
Did you know? Black Mothers Pregnancy Infant Loss week is October 17-23 in the United States. No worries, neither did I. That was until I interviewed Ms. Nneka Hall, and we spoke in detail about this topic. Sadly, it appears that in the United States this topic is listed and briefly looked at during Black Maternal Health Month which occurs in May. Kudos to the U.K. for recognizing the importance of talking about Black Baby Loss and designating Black Baby Loss awareness week as May 17 - May 23. The detailed and informative discussion in this video points out the facts as to why this week needs to be recognized by more than just a handful of people.
