With Google purchasing a half billion dollar facility in downtown Chicago and so many of the tech companies locating here, God has placed on my heart to continue training young men and women in our community to take advantage of these opportunities and build better lives, better families, and better communities.

The pandemic forced us to cancel our classes because we couldn't meet in our classroom.

CITC-Chicago IS COMING BACK & WE ARE COMING BACK BIG!

I will be introducing the course for the New CompTIA Industry Certification that is the gateway into the IT Industry for great paying IT careers!

I am currently pulling the course together and should have it complete and ready to teach in a couple of weeks.

Today we were informed that Darrick Taylor, one of our instructors, mentors, and part of the CITC Technical Leadership Team passed away. He lost a long hard fought battle with cancer.

Darrick got his start in IT by taking the A+ class at CITC-CHICAGO and obtaining his certification. He then took the CCNA class and obtained this certification. Darrick went on to do great things in IT. He started a company, The Community Techs, and a west side based Non Profit , TechOne GrowOne. All while continuing to train, mentor, and support at CITC-Chicago.

Darrick had a heart for the community and yearned to see all people lifted!

Rest Well Darrick, you are already missed.

So today is the last day of classes for this session of IT classes at the training center.

We only had two students complete this session. They both have job offers before the class even finished!

I kinda know how Harriet Tubman felt when she said she could have freed 1000 more slaves if only they knew that they were slaves.

These guys did VPN 101 today. They configured VPN on the laptops that they will take home and access their class workstations to provide remote support from home. They verified it and its ready.

We started the fall IT class today. We have a small class this time but they are extremely motivated.
