Go Sophie ! 🎊✨✨🎉🎈

Reposted Congratulations to Sophie Buchmueller, winner of the 2022 Dual-Degree award!! This award is jointly granted by the departments of Arts Administration and Art History, Theory and Criticism for outstanding MA thesis work and scholarship throughout the degree.

Sophie Buchmueller (MAHA '22) completed her thesis titled "Life and Death under Glass: Exploring the Entanglements of Mark Dion's Neukom Vivarium." She examines how the installation, on permanent display at the Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, functions fifteen years after its initial unveiling and argues that the piece offers opportunities for reformulating human/nonhuman relations. Following graduation, she will be staying in Chicago as she recently began a new position as the registrar at the gallery Corbett vs. Dempsey.
