"I wanted to make my dream come true, it's a privilege, I'm happy every day."
Meet Sergeant Zohar Silok, a soldier with Down Syndrome who never gave up his goal of drafting to the IDF. Zohar volunteered for the IDF four years ago, but he wanted to contribute more. About two years later, he insisted on becoming a soldier. Now, Zohar serves as an integral part of the 638th Battalion in the Technological and Logistics Directorate.
He was recently awarded the President's Award for Outstanding Soldier, becoming the second soldier with Down Syndrome to ever receive this award.
Zohar continues to be an example and inspiration to us all.
