Classroom competition at Bell School! This Go tournament highlighted the power of game-based learning for developing leadership and decision-making skills. Congrats to the champions and everyone saw their skills level up.

The 50th Kisei title series, the most prestigious competition in the world of professional Go, has officially started in Hawaii. Governor Josh Green attended as a special guest and announced that January 2026 is officially the "Month of Go." Local communities and school students participated in the learning sessions, where they had the opportunity to play against professional players.

The Japanese Go community is also working on international outreach. Kisei titleholder Ryo Ichiriki and 10-dan Toramaru Shibano have arrived in Hawaii, USA, ahead of Game 1 of the Kisei title match tomorrow (Jan 22). The hand gestures in the photo are quite amusing—you may guess their meaning.
