The Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) program helped Top Box Foods connect Illinois farmers with food-insecure families across Chicago — providing fresh, local food to the communities that need it most.
But the Trump administration abruptly ended the program, cutting millions in promised funding and leaving farmers, nonprofits and families vulnerable and scrambling.

Over 250 boxes filled with fresh produce, ground beef, white rice, cannellini beans, and more were distributed to families in need.
