As our capstone project, we worked closely with IAMS (Inter-American Magnet School) principal Ms. Daniela Bylaitis to secure children ages 9-10 to participate in our final showcase. Teens and the instructor created age appropriate curriculum teaching children the fundamentals of soccer in a fun and safe yet not overly competitive environment. Ten teens were divided in five groups of two. Each group had a special assignment:
Group 1 (Anthony, Jose): Active Warmup and stretching - 15 minutes
Group 2 (Juan, Joel): Chain Game - 10 minutes
Group 3 (Evan, Abel, Chavez): Gates drill - 10 minutes
Group 4 (Joel, Matt, Kevin): Numbers drill - 15 minutes
Group 5 (Jose, Kevin): Scrimmage - 15 minutes.
All drills cover four corners of youth soccer development with emphasis on technical, physical, social and psychological outcomes.

Strive Soccer and its coaching staff was selected by After School Matters and city of Chicago to run a youth outreach Summer program "Soccer for the Future". The main goal of this program is to help teens ages 14-16 avoid peer pressure, keep them away from streets and introduce them to soccer, both coaching and refereeing, as a possible career choice. First day went great. Keep up the good work guys!
