The Idea Shop is open for business!! Our training site is now LIVE! Print that part! Cut that wood! Mill that mold! 🛠

Get started on your safety training by visiting http://ideashop.iit.edu/safety. Be sure to log into the ***portal site*** (not our wiki) using your IIT email address.

We are excited to announce the arrival of four world-class pieces of equipment to the Idea Shop. Made possible by a generous gift from long-time Illinois Tech Board of Trustees member Ed Kaplan (ME ’65) the acquisition of these machines ushers in a new era of making for the shop, bringing literally 😉 cutting-edge fabrication technology to the Illinois Tech campus. These machines are now officially in operation and available for student use.

Here's glimpse of our new additions: a ShopSabre Pro 408 CNC router for large machining jobs, an Epilog Fusion Pro dual-source laser cutter for large-format cutting, a Stratasys F370 3D printer (FDM in various materials), and a Stratasys J55 3D printer (PolyJet technology for full-color and variable opacity printing).
