In Japan, the word hachi means bee, as in Jim Bee, chef & owner of Hachi's Kitchen. Jim is well known to Chicago for his artfulness in the realm of sushi.

Dear Hachi's Friends and Patrons,
We will be closed during the month of August through November while our owners take some much needed time to be with friends and family.
We wish to thank you for all of your support and look forward to seeing you again soon.
