Invented in Chicago a century ago, there's nothing like an Italian Beef sangwich! Indescribable! Beef. Sausage.

Calumet Eatery is getting real close...

03/10/2026

Did you know that we used to distribute Chicago Beefs brand Italian beef to other restaurants in Illinois plus a couple in Minnesota and even in the U.P? Well, we're going to start doing it again in the near future.

So if you want the best sliced Italian beef on the planet that comes with the best Italian beef gravy in the universe, consider purchasing 5 lb packages of Chicago Beefs brand sliced roast beef from us. It'll take any sliced roast beef creation, hot or cold, and knock it straight out of the park.

Our recipe is made in Chicago for us in an FDA-Inspected certified food lab and each 5 lb package of beef comes with a half gallon of our famous Italian beef gravy. It's all about the gravy.

And most likely we can beat the prices you're paying off the big trucks. For more info please email [email protected]

They’re playing our song! 🎶
Hey musicians!!!

We’ve got a contest where you can win half-price food all year long. Plus $500 in gift certificates! All you gotta do is come sing our song. What could go wrong?

It all started five years ago in Baraga when I tried “Cars and Guitars” on Sundays. Lots of cool cars showed up… but no guitars.

Fast forward to the first time I put the key in the door at the Houghton location. I walked in with my guitar and amp and christened the place with the blues. From there, it never stopped.

Bryan rocked the house down three late nights a week. Chris played four or five lunches every week, and Chris #2 played a few days a week, and invited Caleb along.

Interesting fact: Outlaw'd discovered college student Caleb's fiddle talent at our restaurant after we posted a video of Caleb shredding his fiddle! Caleb then fulfilled his dream to tour publicly, professionally, and with a paycheck included!

Shannon played regularly and brought so many artists, including her recording artist father, Scott, for weekly shows.

Our stage was graced by mandolin, clarinet, harmonicas and even a cello!

We had a surprise show from Outlaw’d, (with Caleb of course) and a couple visits from MTU’s drum line, plus many local artists making their very first public performances.

I feel so incredibly blessed by the friendships and memories that these musicians have brought. What amazes me most is that I’ve never had a budget to hire musicians… they simply showed up, shared their gifts, and filled the room with grooves and smiles with no expectation of payment.

I’ve always made sure every musician eats and drinks free when they play, and when I can, I add a little something extra to the guitar case for tips, even if it’s just gift certificates. So if you stop in while musicians are playing, please consider tipping them if you’re able.

Now I’m hoping we can bring that same vibe to Calumet. 🎤🎸

We’re inviting local musicians to perform their own version of the Calumet Eatery song at our grand opening. Every artist, regardless of skill level, who plays a well-rehearsed version of our song will:

Eat and drink free all day when they play. And take some more home with you! 🎶

Receive 50% off food every other visit, all year long... for as long as we’re open! 🍔

If this actually happens, we’ll film each performance and post them all on Facebook. To really make it worth your while, the version with the most comments will receive $500 in Calumet Eatery gift certificates.*

Most of all, this is a genuine invitation to local musicians to come play anything you want... please come and help make our grand opening a celebration to never forget. One that honors this 150-year-old city, this epic piece of worldwide copper history, and the incredible local music scene so rich with so many talented artists.

This isn’t a bar. There’s no alcohol. It’s a family-friendly place where kids, parents, and grandparents can gather, share a meal, or just hang out, play some games and enjoy music together.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every musician, every friend, and every guest who’s been part of this crazy ride, and those that may join in the future. I’m truly grateful, and I can’t wait to see what we create together here in Calumet.

I know it's a big ask, to learn a new song or fabricate one just from lyrics, but I dreamed it up so I had to see if we can make it a reality.

Fun fact: Americinn Calumet is the first place I ever stayed when I came up here snowmobiling for the first time over 20 years ago. Keweenaw Motorsports was across the parking lot, so I guess that makes Neil and Todd my longest standing friends in da UP! Maybe we can get them to do a duet! 😂

I'll post many versions of our song, and you can cover any version you like or make a whole new version of your own!

*$500 gift card prize not redeemable within the first 30 days after Grand Opening. If using more than $200 in gift cards in a single visit, please provide advance notice. 09/17/2025
