We are so thankful for this new partnership. Us having a steady food donation coming in means that we are able to distribute your monetary donations in other places key example would be veterinary services to ensure the dogs in our care get everything they need before being adopted!

Introducing the rest of our Ridglan Farms survivors.

Again, we are so grateful to all of our fosters for stepping up to this monumental task. Already, so many of these dogs are learning to trust and experience what this world has to offer outside of a laboratory and we couldn't be prouder of them.

Please note that these dogs will likely not be available for adoption yet for some time. It is important to us that we do not rush their healing and that we give them time to show us their personalities a little bit before we select adopters for them. Please remember that we are not a first come, first serve rescue. Matching the dogs with adopters who are RIGHT for them is always our priority, but even more so in the case of these pups.

Introducing half of our Ridglan beagle survivors.

Never again to be known by the numbers tatooed in their ears. Never again to be regarded as a dollar sign.

Forever loved. Forever prioritized. Forever safe.

Thank you ENDLESSLY to our amazing group of foster parents who are taking their jobs incredibly seriously and providing every single thing these precious souls need to take on this next chapter in their lives. Each of these dogs is progressing at exactly their own pace, and we'll share more about what that looks like in the coming days.

Thank you all for the support and donations and words of encouragement as we prepared to bring these kids on board. Stay tuned tomorrow for the introduction to the second half of our beagle babies. ❀

This is it. Our final push before the dogs arrive tomorrow.

This is what we're looking at.

$390 for rental truck
$250+ for gas (because hi almost $6 a gallon give me a break rn)
$400/dog for spay/neuter, vaccines, f***l testing, deworming, etc. (x15 = $6,000)
$5,000 in supplies (food, crates, p*e pads, air tags, transitional comforts, etc.) -- many of which have already been donated through our amazon and chewy wishlists.

This is a huge undertaking, but we're ready to make it happen. Swipe through to see the items still left on our wishlists.

We will be posting and sharing tomorrow as we head out to pick these kids up and bring them to safety. Send some good vibes our way -- it's gonna be an emotional day for all of us.

From our Tails on the Trails name submissions this weekend, this was the name that was pulled.

The first name that will be given to one of our beagle survivors from Ridglan Labs.

The first dog that will receive the chance at life that they always deserved. A life where their value was based on more than just the dollar amount they could be sold for. A life where they get to experience love, safety, and comfort.

May 12th is crawling nearer (LITERALLY CRAWLING - we're so impatient and anxious to go meet them) but there is still prep to be done.

1. Supplies. These kids are going to come into this rescue with a lot of needs that differ vastly from the standard dog in our rescue. Because they have never had anything of their own before and every change is going to be tough on them, we'd like to be able to get them all supplies that can follow them with them to their adopters to offer them some leve of consistency and comfort. Please check out our wishlist and send our incoming survivors some gifts!

2. Foster-to-adopt families! We need a few more fosters for these kids and we're prioritizing fosters that are interested in potentially adopting. We also are prioritizing other confident dogs in the foster home to ensure the beagles have someone to look up to. You must be in or around the Chicago area and in easy access of our vet partners to be considered!

3. Fundraising! Each beagle will be starting fresh with vaccines, need a f***l test, treatment for giardia, a heartworm test, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, and a spay/neuter surgery at minimum. We expect care for these beagles to average about $500 each, so $5000 will likely not cover everything, but it is the goal we'd love to reach before Tuesday!

We have a fundraiser going that not only will help us meet this goal, but gives everyone the opportunity to help us give these precious babies a name. Not just a barcode on the inside of their ear, but a real name. Check out the fundraiser below and make sure you click the blue box in the donation page to leave a message & submit your name suggestions there!

It is a widely known fact that Beagles are the preferred breed for laboratory testing. This is because their docile and forgiving nature allows for their abusers to subject them to torturous procedures, pain, and suffering repeatedly, and never have to worry about retaliation or bite risks.

Read it again.

These dogs are chosen for torture because they're so eager for human contact and love that they don't turn on their captors, even when they are literally bred to suffer and be killed in the name of "science".

60,000 animals are bred and sold to labs across the US each year to be used in scientific experiments and testing that result in their perpetual suffering, and eventual death. The 500 dogs that the Beagle Freedom Project is removing from Ridglan farms are a drop in the bucket, but CRA is grateful to be able to step up and give 15 of them a safe place to land.

15 dogs who were born and lived their entire lives in 2x4 kennels with wire mesh causing blisters and sores on their feet. 15 dogs who were born to be tortured and killed at the hands of inhumane "scientists". 15 dogs who will now get to experience sunlight, grass, a bed, a toy, and love for the first time.

But we need your help.

All of these dogs will need to be spayed/neutered, receive comprehensive bloodwork to screen for any lasting damage that will need to be addressed from their experiences in the shelter, and substantial supplies to help keep them comfortable as they learn to adjust to life outside of the lab.

Please help us meet our fundraising goal before May 12th when our team will be driving to Wisconsin and bringing home our Ridglan angels.

The highest donors will be offered the opportunity to bestow one of the simplest, but perhaps most meaningful kindnesses on these dogs. Giving them a name. A name that is more than just the number branded into their ear. A name that signifies a fresh start. Please leave a memo in your donor square with the name you would like to choose. You can also feel free to leave both a boy and girl name option if you'd like.

Lets hit this goal and show these beagles what it's like to be loved and valued.
