This couple was such a joy to work with and so respectful of my journey in hospitality. Seeing their smiles throughout the day was everything.

And yes, I’m wearing a yarmulke. I do so out of respect when hosting a Jewish wedding.

Before you tour a venue, know your guest count and your budget range.

It sounds simple, but this is one of the first things I ask every couple. A venue may look beautiful online, but if it does not comfortably fit your guest count or align with your overall budget, it may not be the right fit for your wedding.

Your venue sets the tone, but it also impacts almost every part of the planning process, including catering, rentals, staffing, design, flow, and timing.

Start with the numbers first. The right space should feel beautiful, practical, and realistic.

In 2025 Events by Shaun Rajah made its debut in the land Down Under. It was fascinating to experience the incredible variety of Australian florals and the unique sense of place they bring to an event.

Working internationally always reminds me how beautifully different hospitality can be around the world. Every destination has its own rhythm of service, culture of celebration, and approach to welcoming guests — and it’s something I’m constantly inspired by as a planner.

Grateful to share a few reflections from that experience and my perspective on global hospitality.
