Defining Chicago’s past, present & future

The landmark Art Deco champagne bottle building. Before you know its name, you know its image. The Carbide and Carbon building on Michigan Avenue was completed in 1929 by the Burnham Brothers, sons of the famed Chicago architect Daniel Burnham. Perhaps, as legend says, it really was designed to flout Prohibition, but this bold, playful spirit is now the home of St. Jane.

With our name we look to Jane Addams, a legendary Chicagoan, founder of Hull House, social activist, philosopher, innovator and instigator. In honor of her work championing families and a better life for all, a percentage of revenue will go to the Jackson Chance Foundation, supporting families with babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
