Spotted my photos in the Rogers Park neighborhood guide this weekend while shooting the annual Taco Crawl! 🌮📸

It’s a full-circle moment. I’ve been photographing life in Chicago for over 12 years now, and every project that helps tell the story of a community still means so much to me. From small businesses to street festivals, it’s the vibrant people and places that make this work feel alive.

Just wrapped up a year of capturing the incredible work of the Rogers Park Business Alliance (RPBA)—an organization that strengthens the heartbeat of Rogers Park by supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists.

RPBA is a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating a thriving economic environment in Rogers Park. They provide resources, connections, and advocacy for small businesses, ensuring they have the tools to grow and succeed.

I’ve always been passionate about supporting small businesses, creatives, and entrepreneurs. Through my work with RPBA, I got to uplift not just one business but an entire ecosystem of dreamers and doers. Small business is the lifeblood of community, and supporting it has never been more crucial. I hope you take a moment today to encourage and uplift the small business owners, artists, and entrepreneurs in your life—it makes a difference.

Also, last week, I reconnected with an artist I made a video for over a decade ago. He told me the photos and video we created are still serving him today—on his website, in grant applications, and beyond. It was a reminder of how powerful strategic, high-quality visuals can be. When done right, they continue working for you for years.

We are honored to support Indian-American director .jayadevan by producing his first music video, which comes alive on the big screen for the first time on January 11, 2025, at .

Blending classical and contemporary dance, this film features incredible choreography by the talented Ish*ta Mili and Prasanna Jeer.

When asked about his inspiration, Sathish shared:
“My culture is my tool for communication, bridging classical dance styles into a modern setting. These styles were best suited for capturing the emotionality and arc of the film.”

The music played a pivotal role in shaping the vision. Sathish described hearing the song as “a heralding call” and, together with producer , contemplated the deep narratives of what it means to awaken the divine and spiritual warrior within us all. Drawing from imagery he grew up on, the film reflects Sathish’s personal journey grappling with the enduring presence of violence in the world—a dilemma he has faced since childhood.
